WHO WE ARE
Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) is the first international University located in the heart of Central Asia to offer Western-style education with British qualifications. WIUT provides a wide range of programmes in English, actively develops academic and research activities and organizes social events. The University is committed to high standards of learning, emphasizing independent learning as an essential aspect of the British education system. The University offers six undergraduate degrees and nine postgraduate programmes, allowing students to continue their education at a higher level. PhD DSc programmes are available at WIUT for those pursuing an academic career. In addition to the core educational programmes, WIUT offers additional executive courses. One of the distinctive features of WIUT is an active student life. Students can often be found in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), computer and innovation labs, where they work on projects and discuss study materials with peers. Students participate in sports and various social and cultural activities organized by the Students Union.

WIUT's Champion Balances Athletics and Academics to Win Bronze Winning Uzbekistan’s first individual bronze at the FIE Junior Foil World Cup in Tashkent 2025 reflects years of commitment, sacrifice, and a balanced approach to both sport and academics. WIUT fosters a thriving environment for student-athletes by providing top-tier training, international competition opportunities, and ongoing encouragement. Freedom to learn, work, and grow I found out that the University is not only a place where one can embark herself in an academic journey but also develop leadership qualities, which became significant achievement for me. Opening Doors to Endless Possibilities WIUT was the first university from Uzbekistan to participate in investment competition of this scale. We were the so-called trailblazers’ and it was a whole new experience for all of us. A Global Mosaic: International Student Experiences Language barriers can be exhausting but also rewarding. Recently I tried to talk to a cashier near my dormitory. He understood it well and he responded well, too. It was one of my little but significant achievements, related to my adaptation to the place. I was proud of learning something about the culture and meeting people. Compact city where you know everybody One night, we arrived at the restaurant, and I saw this beautiful university building nearby. It gave off British vibes, so I asked if it was a British university. The answer was yes. Mashhura casually remarked, “Maybe I’ll apply here.” The university designed to nurture growth WIUT is a dynamic place to be at. It has both an incredible, amazing social life, and distinguishing academic opportunities. I like how students balance their social life and their studies at the university. The Inspirational Journey of 2022 Valedictorian At just 23 years old, passing all three levels of the CFA exam stands as one of Javokhir’s most significant academic accomplishments. Professionally, he takes pride in being the youngest member of the World Bank Group in Central Asia. Challenge your boundaries: build your network and communicate At WIUT, we believe that education goes beyond the classroom – it is about shaping people with ambitious minds ready to enter the job market. One of the outstanding examples is showcased by Nigina Yadgarova, a Level 5 Finance student already working for one of Uzbekistan’s top online marketplaces, Uzum. Her story is a testament to transformative education. From idea to innovation: the birth of ‘Organizm’ Every startup has a story behind it that resulted in its conception. For Adiz Ibodullayev, a Level 6 student at WIUT, it began with something very familiar but very important—procrastination and inefficiency. It was initially a personal problem that eventually turned into a startup idea—a digital planning platform by the name "Organizm" that would help people plan their goals, tasks, and personal growth.
