About Sculptterra Winery and Sculpture Garden

Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden is a gem to be discovered. Founded and still run by the Frankel family, this is a true passion project turned epic winery. Dr. Warren Frankel, his wife Kathy, and their three children moved to Paso Robles in the late 1970s and set up their ranch. After focusing on wine grapes, they opened their doors as a winery in the early 2000s. Since then, they’ve welcomed guests to their estate and multi-million-dollar sculpture garden so sip wine and wonder through stunning art.

Warren’s children Paul and Faith are now at the helm along with their dad and are continuing the legacy of high-quality wines and unique wine tasting experience.

The Blend

The blend is 44% Primitivo, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and rounded out with 16% Merlot. A unique take and one that is truly based in a ripe California blend tradition. Moderate tannins, nice solid structure and bright acid make for a crowd-pleasing wine. The blackberry, cassis and juicy red fruit play perfectly with black pepper, licorice and fresh tobacco.

“Crafted by Paul Frankel, this blend of 44% Primitivo, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 16% Merlot was aged for 16 months in 500L 18% new American oak barrels. The result is a juicy, red-fruited, savory-spiced red with broad-shouldered tannins and sweet baking spices, balanced by a salty-acid tension that carries through the lengthy finish.”
