About Poeesia

Poeesia is a virtual instrument unlike any other. It is a performance poem, strongly inspired by Estonian nature, tradition, and the thriving local choral scene.

At the heart of the instrument is a poem written in Estonian that describes the four seasons in twelve lines.

There are no rigid "articulations", no pre-recorded phrases, no keyswitching. Poeesia takes what you play, and performs it as an ensemble would, gliding between notes in soaring melisma and singing words with real meaning that flow together with natural lightness.

Recorded in Tallinn with an ensemble of young performers, Poeesia is a gateway to the unique sounds of the Estonian language.
