What's Happening?
When Art Needs a Place to Live!

Rainbow Divider

The Problem:

When art searches for a place to live, it collides with the inaccessibility of the spaces that should host it. These spaces, when not entirely inaccessible, insert the artistic product into a context of constraints and top-down limits, aimed at minimizing conflict by diluting/annihilating the messages within the artwork. This allows it to be inscribed within an art-economic circuit geared towards consumption.

This approach affects both conventional exhibition spaces and educational environments, fragmenting what should be a cohesive social fabric and hindering transversal collaborations between artists. These interconnected effects culminate in the distinction between A-grade and B-grade art, elitism, and competition.

The Solution: CSA Sisma!

The CSA Sisma, as a liberated and self-managed space, is a place of possibility. Here, collective paths emerge and develop autonomously, finding expression beyond the limits and canons of the ordinary. "Spazi Impossibili" (Impossible Spaces) is born as a journey where art's autonomy finds a possibility to exist through exhibitions, workshops, self-productions, and social gatherings. The sharing of the artistic journey, from its very conception, allows for a symbiosis of multiple visions and artistic disciplines.

Important Announcement! Check out the schedule below for all the radical events!

New How do I participate in the Exhibition?

Moving according to the principles of Autonomy and Self-Management means collectively handling all aspects of the event: from organizing the exhibition to producing the works that will comprise it.

The meaning of developing a bottom-up, horizontal path lies in the very act of doing it together, through the exchange of ideas and knowledge, sharing time and energy, and collectively developing the theme of "Impossible Spaces".

Preparatory assemblies are held every Wednesday at 7:00 PM at CSA Sisma (Via V. Alfieri 8, Macerata) and will conclude on Wednesday, March 26th. From that date onwards, the exhibition setup phase will begin.

New 2 How do I participate in the Workshops?

The workshops, taking place on April 11th, will be an opportunity to work together on the theme of impossible spaces. A moment for horizontal creation and transmission of techniques and knowledge, where the concepts of Autonomy and Self-Management are applied to the production of works that will complete the setup of the CSA Sisma spaces during the event.

In this sense, workshops are an additional opportunity to experience the space practically, moving collectively within the creative path, materially producing the work on-site.
