So, last night, my OPNsense router just stopped routing anything to WAN, I think. Even SSHing into it and pinging 8.8.8.8 didn't work. I rebooted the router and it came up fine and brought connectivity back up, but Spectrum gave me a new IPv6 Prefixanda new IPv4 WAN address. Not the end of the world, I have ddclient set up on my server, but I still had to go through and manually update my IPv6 prefix in a few places (IPv6 DNS in router advertisements since I have two Pi Holes as well as a Wireguard instance with its own IPv6 /64 network). I never had any issues on Google Fiber but since moving it's one after another :(#internet#OPNsense#Spectrum#HomeNetworking

Ha, I stopped using TrueNAS Scale and switched to using Incus on Gentoo a while ago. Guess it’s the other way now

I self-host quite a few services on my home network and don't particularly want LLM-crawler bullshit DoSing me... but also I don't really want to deal with figuring out what routes need to be protected, or even just how to set up Anubis, just because a bunch of dickheads are obsessed with

Every time I forget that I’m 6’4” and I literally do not fit in economy plane seats I cry. About to do 4.5 hours with my knees quite literally jammed into the seat in front of me AND that’s with them bent into my girlfriend’s seat. I just can genuinely not fit with my legs forwards unless I want to pay more.

I’m a Texan who loves to shit on Texas but that absolutely makes me angry when people from more progressive areas say this is what we voted for. Only 56% of Texanvotersvoted for Trump. Even if we’re gonna say “oh well you’re in Texas just move” it’s like, some people can’t? Some people actually like Texas besides the politics??? Like ???? And that’s not even specifically mentioning all the people of color, women, and LGBTQ+ people who are suffering, only the fact that we have lots of people who voted for more progressive policies.

I think it's so that, if you're try to reach them, you know their notifications are paused. IIRC, there's an option somewhere to ping them anyways, in that case.

Honestly, snac was pretty easy to set up and it just immediately worked with Mona on iOS. It seems like a great option for self-hosting (setting up Mastodon, when I had my own instance, was a lot harder).

Maybe I move instances too often... Anyways, hey y'all. Just set up a new #snac instance myself and am moving away from Mastodon for the time being. I like that it's extremely simple with no JavaScript but still Mastodon API-compatible. Some things I enjoy are the #DallasStars, the #WRC, and #Formula1.
