FEATURED SHOP: Tale of the Cod

Sometimes small storefronts lead to big gift shops and Tale of the Cod on Main St. in Chatham is certainly one of the prettiest of these. Peaking in the front window you get a glimpse of what is to come. Home decor, framed art and lamps graced the storefront the day I visited. There was a pink gluggle jug, whale wall art and pretty lamp in the first section of the shop along with decorative tableware, plates, pottery and cutting boards.

Further in you will find a wall of infant clothes and gifts, blankets, family themed frames, a small collection of books for adults and children, and pretty cards. I especially liked the unique hand made lamps. There were framed original prints of Cape themed settings, as well as photographs of Cape scenes. Carved wooden ducks and wooden whale wall art are examples of the additional fine crafts by local artisans. This shop is packed with gifts, including candles, soaps, mugs, vases, ornaments, and holiday decor. Jewelry and accessories are here too. They have brand name items such as Scout Bags, Byers' Choice holiday figures, Mariposa tableware and Simon Pearce glassware. There is even a furniture gallery in the back of the shop. They also offer a wedding registry. Needless to say you can spend a lot of time here in this delightful shop picking up special occasion gifts or treating yourself. See their website for more details. You can also follow Tale of the Cod on Instagram and Facebook.
