New to web design, I want that geocities aesthetic...So naturally, I started with neocities.org. However, the tutorial is VERY short it makes me wonder. For those who experienced the original 90s Geocities, was there anything inherent in the platform that made all those websites look like that? Or was that just the style? I ask because now that I have a basic website set up, I've got to start looking for tutorials and figure out whether there's static or dynamic content, and all that extra complicated stuff I have very little grasp on. But none of these tutorials are going to help me nail the aesthetic I'm looking for. So - is the Geocities aesthetic something I have to go out of my own to deconstruct and remake, because the style was inherent in the tools available? Or is there some framework or something I can use to make sure I get that kind of result? |
