Death is a subject we tend to avoid. And when we are faced with death, our own or that of a loved one, most of the attention can go toward medical matters.
Because we don't like thinking about it, and because our culture has medicalized death, we often miss opportunities to engage meaningfully during this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Pittsburgh Community Deathcare wants to reclaim death as a sacred event. We want to encourage a culture that is unafraid of this natural transition, and we want to help others appreciate the power they have to make wise and creative end-of-life decisions.
