2025-06-11 - Panoramas are now decoded in the client by default. This should take some load off the public instance of the server, which has been struggling to handle the recent increase in traffic. If this is too slow on your device, you can revert to the server-side JPEG conversion in the settings.
2025-04-19 - The metadata box now displays an icon of the camera model which the current panorama was captured with.
2025-02-02 - When coloring by age or Build ID, a legend is now displayed in the bottom left corner.
2024-12-11 - Look Around finally has an official web viewer! Apple's beta version of their web map added the ability to enter Look Around today. The "Open in Apple Maps" link in the pano details box has been changed to open this web viewer on non-Apple devices.
2024-09-14 - You can now view the last modification date of coverage tiles.
2024-05-10 - Keyboard movement is now available! Use the arrow keys to move to the closest panorama in that direction.

2024-03-02 - HEVC in Firefox on Windows is now working properly. (There is, however, a bug in the underlying WMF codec causing it to decode the image with the wrong color profile, like my code did before December – we'll have to wait for Microsoft to catch and fix this.)

2023-12-15 - If your browser supports HEVC, including the Main Still Picture profile, the viewer now decodes panoramas in the client, which should improve performance in most cases. You can check if your browser supports this particular format on this page. If necessary, you can disable this feature in the settings.
