Welcome to the Frutiger Aero Archive!

A Tribute to the 2000s!

This site is under construction! More content coming soon!

Hello and welcome! My name is Daniele, and this website of mine is an archive for Frutiger Aero content, but not only that, it is a love letter to the 2000s and a place for people who grew up during those years to relive nostalgic memories that they had through flash games, music, videos, and other media. I hope you will enjoy your time here. Feel free to say hi to me on the Guestbook if you enjoyed it.

For those that don't know what Frutiger Aero is, I will explain it briefly here:

Sofi Lee of the Consumer Aesthetics Research Institute coined the term in 2017. It indicates the corporate tech aesthetic from approximately 2005 to 2013. You might have seen it in Windows Vista, Windows 7, the Wii, the PlayStation 3, or even on advertisements and certain toys such as the iDog.

Notable elements of the style are bright and vibrant colors, glossy textures, glass/transparent materials, aurora borealis, skeuomorphism, bubbles, bokeh, macro photographs of grass, futurism, and humanism.

Frutiger Aero derives its name from the Frutiger fonts designed by Adrian Frutiger, which inspired the Segoe UI fonts, and Aero, the visual design and user experience guidelines of Windows Vista and Windows 7, which stands for "Authentic, Energetic, Reflective, and Open."

There are also subgenres of Frutiger Aero that exist, for example:
Frutiger Eco, Helvetica Aqua Aero, Frutiger Aurora, DORFic, Dark Aero, and Technozen. You can take a look at the History section of my site to learn more details about its evolution through time.

Scroll down for a few visual examples.
