Your guide to the latest in monkeypox!
Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, is a zoonotic disease caused by the Mpox virus, endemic to Africa. There are two main clades: Clade I and Clade II.
Since January 2022, over 99,000 global Mpox cases have been reported, mainly from Clade II.
However, Clade I is still a concern, with increasing outbreaks in Central Africa and recent cases outside its traditional range.
