Our research is seeking solutions to some of the world's most challenging problems, from improving health and wellbeing, to advancing the global 5G economy and finding the energy solutions of the future. Partnering with policy-makers, industry, businesses, and communities and human performance research, to train tomorrow's doctors. Supporting the Life Sciences sector and human performance research in Sport Science. Bangor's Covid-19 research is informing Public Health policy decisions, establishing the UK's first wastewater epidemiology network tracking infection rates. Investigating media influences on mask-wearing choices and future pandemic preparedness. Bangor is advancing technologies and resilience in nuclear power and medicine through our leading Nuclear Futures Institute. Tackling Climate Change with research into Low carbon energy. Addressing one of the planet's greatest environmental issues. Plastic waste and the overuse of single-use plastics, and protecting the variety of species and ecosystems through biodiversity conservation research. Our research on Wales, the Welsh language and linguistic skills, is inspiring a vibrant bilingual nation. Our discoveries are informing teaching, enabling students to learn about research in real-time. Our researchers share an ethos embracing courage, integrity, collaboration, confidence, and trust with a global outlook that is helping us make a real difference to people's lives. Bangor University has been awarded for work on developing a novel system for public health surveillance through the analysis of harmful pathogens in wastewater. An award is given to recognise outstanding contributions to the nation.
