hi.welcome to my personal website. it doesn’t get updated all too often, but i’m happy with it. it’s pretty simple and should be totally functional even with everything blocked, like if you’re running UBO in hard mode or whatever. probably the only thing that’ll break is the reply by email feature, but you can always just drop a line directly to me[at]arctanh.cc (take that, cloudflare!) and i might get back to you.
anyway, here’s a bit about me: i’m a special ed teacher located in the midwest, recently diagnosed with adhd and learning to how to deal, just bought a house, no kids but two cats: Peanut, whose lovely yawning face can be found at the top of this page, and Butters, whose lovely full moon eyes can be found in my happy new year post. yes, our cats are Peanut and Butters. we are hilarious, thank you for noticing.
i have a few special interests in birds, math, games, and language. my ✨ unique brain ✨ means that i have a good deal of general knowledge and a very limited amount of specialized knowledge outside of my special interests, and even in those i have my limits because i’m easily frustrated! i’m also a big advocate for open-source and try to use things with copyleft licenses whenever i can (note also the license on this website). i also have a whole worldbuilding thing that i’ve been working on for probably the past six years or so off and on, purely for my own enjoyment. i’m under no illusions that it’s anything earth-shattering or novel, but it’s been a good outlet. it’s allowed me to practice creative writing, cartography, linguistics, and more. i’ll probably do some more posts on ideas from that when i get into another cycle of creativity.
that’s pretty much the main vibe of this place, i guess. i’ll be adding things as i get around to it, sharing and experimenting with things that feel important or interesting to me. there might be some therapy talk, maybe some personal research. mostly it’ll be a lot like this intro: rambly and stream-of-consciousnessy. if that seems like your cup of tea, you’re more than welcome to take a look around.
